Abundance of Caution
Hand-knotted barrier tape („Caution"), 200 × 500 cm , Willapa Bay, USA, 2023
ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION is a site-specific installation on an abandoned property. It transforms ordinary barrier tape - a material of warning and control, standardly printed with the word Caution - into something fragile and hand-made. Each knot marks time and care, turning a sign of restriction into a quiet act of attention. The work reflects on how control settles into public space and seeps into our everyday language. It hangs like a curtain on an abandoned stage - for plays that were never performed, for stories left untold.
The piece was created as a reflection on the Corona pandemic, exploring how measures of caution and restriction shaped our shared spaces and daily lives

“Abundance of Caution” is a site-specific installation on an abandoned property, transforming a ubiquitous warning material into a labor-intensive textile gesture. Hand-knotted barrier tape challenges notions of authority, safety, and fear. The work reflects on how control materializes in public space and becomes part of everyday visual language.
